This class is an introduction to creating quilt blocks based upon                                                      the diamond shape without templates. Imagine sewing diamonds and                                                 strips of fabric together and using the Square Within A Square™                                                    (SNS) ruler to produce the nine blocks plus pieced border needed for                                                 this lap size quilt.  This quilt is designed to showcase your favorite 6"                                                 cut novelty or theme fabric in the 5 block centers and throughout the quilt.                                       Quilt = 50” x 50" 

Supplies: 

 BASIC SEWING SUPPLIES

 Square Within A Square® ruler (available

for purchase in class)

Fabric, for piecework and borders:

 2 yards Dark

 1 yard light

 2 yards medium #1

 1 yard medium #2

 2 yards novelty or theme fabric

Fabric notes: Try to avoid large prints and one

way designs as the fabric will turn different directions.                                                               No flannel because it needs special attention.

 Start practicing a scant 1/4" sewing seam.
