"New
York Beauty at the Fair" by Dewey Hawley
This
quilt was entered in the Puyallup Fair's
"Fiesta" challenge in 2005 and contains a piece of fabric that
was donated by the Quilt Barn that I used for the circle in the
middle of the quilt. It is my interpretation of a fiesta with
the bright fabrics suggesting a "fiesta"
feeling.
"Roller Coaster" by Pat Haas
This quilt is a pattern by Caryl Bryer
Fallert, and was quite a challenge to make. I loved using her
fabrics in the quilt.
"Aztec Sun" by Pat
Haas
I knew I had to make this quilt when I
saw Karen Stone's pattern. I used Bold On Batiks fabrics,
which are hand dyed.
"Floral Star" by
Pat Haas
This quilt was started during a 3-day
workshop with the pattern designer Judy Niemeyer in Arlington.
We could work on any one of her patterns, so it was really hard to
choose which one. The whole background and border is
paper-pieced with lots of wedges.
"Sverige 25" by Barbara
Frazier
I was inspired to make this when I saw a copy of a Swedish
postage stamp of this optical illusion. It was on display at our
last quilt show and won a prize.
