Two Fabric Applique'Quilt

Two fabrics, a spool of

thread, and a pattern you

love is the recipe for a good time. You can brown applique.bmpchoose from several of Nancy’s

unique small designs (11”x17”) as she shows you how easy it is to make a beautiful wall hanging using her stress-free needle turn appliqué techniques. All levels of experience are welcome.

Supplies:

 Milliners/Straw needle size 10 or 11

 Thread that matches the appliqué fabric.

 Basting needle and ugly thread. You will Be thread-basting your quilt.

 Thread snippers, fabric scissors

 Straight pins (30-50)

 Reading glasses, if you need them.

 Clover Desk Needle Threader, if you           arepurple tulip.bmp struggling with threading the needle

 Thimble, if you prefer to use one

 Pencil, paper for note taking

 Colored-ink ballpoint pen (blue, red, or  green) or a blunt pencil.

 Fabrics:

Before coming to class, wash all fabrics to make sure they are pre-shrunk and colorfast.

 1/2 yard appliqué fabric. Includes enough

for binding. You can bring one fat quarter,

but will not have enough for binding. If fabric

is directional, consider buying 2/3 yard. If

directional fabric is parallel to selvedge,

bring 5/8 yard.

Fat quarter for background, 18” x 21”.

Choose strong contrast to appliqué fabric. Fat quarter for backing and batting, not

needed for class.

PLEASE ALSO NOTE (and bring):

 If you choose a light appliqué fabric and you

can see the pattern through it then bring

item 1

 If your appliqué fabric requires a light box

(or window) to see the pattern through it,

then bring items 1 and 2

 If you cannot see the pattern through your

appliqué fabric using a light box, then bring

item 3.

1. Permanent or semi-permanent marking pen

that will show on the right side of fabric.

2. A light box. If you do not have a light box,

bring item 3 below.

3. Pattern Transfer Paper, Saral and Clover

Chacopy brands will work just fine.
