Friday – Presenting Janet Fogg ”Innovative Traditionals”. Over the past few years Janet has developed a lecture mapping her journey through quilt making. Join her while she shares her “Innovative Traditionals" methods and how she takes quilts from traditional blocks to spectacular award winning art quilts.

Saturday - Presenting Gwen Maxwell Williams, “African American Quilting – The Journey from the Past to the Present”. African textiles have transcended cultures in the realm of quilting and textile art. The richness of color, pattern and techniques shows that “there is really nothing new under the sun”.The history and processes used in the production of their textiles are relevant today. Explore the history and role of African Textiles and it’s relevance in African American Quilting. Debunk some myths and explore some new truths about African American quilting. Gwen’s personal journey using these fabrics comes to life as I have worked to incorporate and integrate the styles and techniques into her work.
