Fat Quarter Log
Cabin
Marti
Michell
Unlike scrap Log Cabin quilts that
feature a different
fabric in every strip of a block, this
scrap
Log Cabin quilt depends on orderly
repetition of
fabrics within each block. In this
charming scrap quilt only a center square and four
other fabrics appear in each block. Quilt size 84”
square
Supplies:
BASIC
SEWING SUPPLIES
Fabrics for 4
blocks:
One
dark fat quarter
One
light fat quarter
Two
medium fat quarters
8”
square fabric for block centers, or

yard if you want all 36 centers to
match.
The above set of fabrics creates your
first four
blocks. You will need 9 sets to
complete the
quilts 36

The trick to this quilt is in selecting
the fabrics. Choose four compatible fat quarters

alternate with a medium and the light will alternate
with the other
medium.
